Jim Lynch is an American colorist. Jim’s paintings are frequently in Art Maui. He paints, en plein air, in oils and pastels throughout Maui and in his Upcountry studio. Jim started painting for his teachers and classmates in the third grade. He later painted his way through Fordham Law School at Lincoln Center. Jim became a signature member of the Pastel Society of America for winning a nationally juried PSA competition in the National Arts Club in New York City. He studied art at the University of Miami and in New York at the Art Students League, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Pastel Society of America. Jim then served a three and half year apprenticeship in the European tradition with Master artist Albert Handell in Santa Fe, NM. Jim’s paintings have won regional and national awards and are in private and corporate collections in Paris, America, Ireland and Switzerland.
